I purchased a ASUS ROG GL703VD and am attempting to install UbuntuStudio 18.04 from a flash drive. I removed the seagate firecuda drive and set it aside then installed a SATA M.2 SSD. I have an old Tails 2.4 flash drive and this boots up without issue.

I added the following parameter in the grub edit window immediately the following the word splash but before the three dashes on third line:

nouveau.modeset=0 tpm_tis.interrupts=0 acpi_osi=Linux
i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 idle=nomwait

only to get a brief splash screen before the display exited to the nether regions. Can anyone divulge what parameters actually worked to get Ubuntu to install on this machine? This question has been asked elsewhere on this site but appears the conversation was taken to chat before a definitive answer was given.
